Several Sallisaw Black Diamonds baseball players were honored at last Wednesday night’s Sallisaw Baseball Awards Banquet.

As for the specialized awards, Luke Pack was the only two-award winner as he was named the Offensive Player of the Year and was the Point Chart Champion.

Connor Green and Easton Wolfe were the Co-Defensive Players of the Year, while Creed Nelson was the Pitcher of the Year.

Kase Adams was the Infielder of the Year, Broque Oft was the Outfielder of the Year and Rylan Eagle was the Utility Player of the Year.

Caleb Hightower got the Courtesy Runner of the Year Award, Dagan Grizzle got the Silver Slugger Award and Coleman Wasson and Johnny Velasquez were the Co-Black Diamond Award winners.

The six seniors, Oft, Nelson, Green, Hightower, Wasson and Brodie Cameron received a special plaque with their photograph on it as well as a special bat.

The players who made the 2025 All-District 4A-8 Baseball Team were recognized. Nelson was the Pitcher of the Year, while eight other members — Oft and Cameron as outfielders, Green as catcher, Pack and Adams as infielders, Grizzle as a first baseman and Eagle and Wolfe as utility players — were named to the first team all-district. Wasson and Velasquez were named to the second team all-district.

In the original story on the All-District 4A-8 Team that published in last Wednesday’s edition, Adams, Grizzle, Eagle, Wolfe, Wasson and Velasquez accidentally were omitted from the story. Your TIMES regrets the error.

All members of the team received Letter S Certificates of Participation.
