Allen spoils Senior Night for Tigers

By KEVIN GRAY SPORTS CORRESPONDENT, DAVID SEELEY SPORTS EDITOR

The Central Tigers did not have a successful Senior Night as they lost 40-0 to the Allen Mustangs on Thursday night at Tiger Stadium.

The Tigers (4-4 overall, 1-4 in District AII-3 play) have now reached playoff mode as they will try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive with a road district game against the Gore Pirates (3-5, 2-3), who lost 20-12 to the Liberty Tigers last Thursday night, at 7 p.m. this Friday at K.G. Horn Stadium. The winner will keep its slim playoff hopes alive, while the loser likely will be knocked out of playoff contention.

The Mustangs (5-3, 4-1), who led 7-0 after the first quarter, scored 20 points in the second period for a 27-0 halftime lead. Allen capped the night with a third-quarter and a fourth-quarter touchdown.

In defeat, Kiefer Bailey led the Tigers in passing with

78 yards but threw an interception. Ryker Miller’s

45 yards rushing led Central in that category, while Gavin Randolph caught four passes for 31 yards and Aiden Smith had three receptions for 30 yards.
