Merchants’ Christmas Open House

This event features Sallisaw merchants from throughout the community opening the doors of their businesses with lots of holiday sales, refreshments and new items on display.

Nov. 21

Christmas Lighting

The tradition of lighting all the Christmas lights throughout the city continues on the lawn of Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library in downtown Sallisaw. After the Christmas tree lighting, Santa Claus will greet children at the GRDA Stage for photos and to hear their Christmas wishes.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Now in its 11th year, the free community dinner is one of the year’s highlights. The dine-in meal features turkey, dressing and all the fixings.

Entries Deadline

Entries are due by noon at the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce for those who want to be part of the Christmas parade, as well as those participating in the Deck the Yard home decorating contest and the storefront decorating competition.

Sallilsaw Christmas Parade

Float entries for the holiday event are divided into three categories: Business, school and school organizations, and churches and non-profits. Theme for the parade is “Christmas through the decades.”
