Local wrestlers place in Black Diamond Classic

Many local wrestlers representing five different youth wrestling organizations placed at last Saturday’s Black Diamonds Classic, which took place at Sallisaw High School’s Paul Post Field House.

Three Sallisaw Takedown Club members were multiple champions and multiple placers.

Lincoln Sanders won the titles at 67 pounds in the open age 8-and-younger division, at 67-70 pounds in the open age 10-and-younger division and at 64-70 pounds in the open age 12-and-younger division.

Miles Sanders took gold at 52 pounds in the open age 8-and-younger division and at 52-55 pounds in the open age 10-and-younger division.

Patrick Real was a multiple placer as he won the 64-pound title in the open age 8-and-younger division, while finishing third at 61 64 pounds in the open age 10-and-younger division. In the open age 8-and-younger division, the Sallisaw Takedown Club had a 1-2-3 finish at 55 pounds as Finn Morse was first, Gatlen Ruminer was second and Dean McInerney was third. Kye Barnes was the champion and teammate Melania Duke was runner-up at 117 126 pounds in the girls age 15-and-younger division for the Sallisaw Takedown Club.

Several other Sallisaw Takedown Club members took home championships. Winning gold were Gabriel Craighead (40-43 pounds, age 6-and-younger division), Connor Carrington (61 pounds, open age 8-and-younger division), Kole Knoke (heavyweight, open age 10-and-younger division), Clayton Warner (120 pounds, open age 10-and-younger), Harbor Hicks (131-135 pounds, open age 10-and-younger division) and Waylon Giles (100 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division).

Other weight classes had multiple placers for the Sallisaw Takedown Club, which included champions.

At 88 pounds in the open age 12-and-younger division, Jacob Holman was the champion and Ivan Helgeson was fourth.

Mayson Baker was first and Roark Davis was third at 110 pounds in the open age 12-and-younger division.

At heavyweight in the open age 12-and-younger division, Eric Coury was runner-up, Ian Julian was third and Brian Grisgby was fourth for the Sallisaw Takedown Club.

Adalynn Bradshaw was second and Charleigh Young was third at 88 pounds in the girls age 10-and-younger division for the Sallisaw Takedown Club, while Koda Wiley was second and Kyler Rice was third at heavyweight in the age 6-and-younger division.

Coming in second for the Sallisaw Takedown Club were William Craighead (46 pounds, age 6-and-younger division), Dawson Smith (49 pounds, open age 8-and-younger division), Landyn Strain (140 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Kobe Johnson (155 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division), Kylie Stanhope (91-95 pounds, girls age 12-and-younger division) and Gabriella McFarland (8294 pounds, girls age 15-and-younger division).

Braden Sapp was third and Ely Banderman was fourth at 96 pounds in the open age 12-and-younger division, while James Scott placed third and Kyson Graham placed fourth at 160 pounds in the open age 12-and-younger division for the Sallisaw Takedown Club.

Adain Holmes (52 pounds, age 6-and-younger division), Ryder Fields (92 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Sean Taylor (120 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Mason Hall (126-130 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division), Jimmy Martin (195285 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division) and Kimber Wiley (74-78 pounds, girls age 10-and-younger division) all placed third for the Sallisaw Takedown Club.

Finishing fourth for the Sallisaw Takedown Club were Holden Real (49 pounds, age 6-and-younger division), Coby Lynch (52-55 pounds, open age 10-and-younger), Colton Spoon (80 pounds, open age 10-and-younger division), Avyn Frank (130 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Cooper Carter (92-98 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division), Caden Stidd (112-119 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division) and Jade Coffman (51-54 pounds, girls age 8-and-younger division).

Several Vian Wrestling Club members placed in the tournament.

Kainen Hunter won two titles for the Vian Wrestling Club as he won the 49-pound title in both the age 6-and-younger division and the open age 8-and-younger division.

Creede Prier (92 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Marco Gonzales (160 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division) and Addison Sanders (40-46 pounds, girls age 6-and-younger division) all won championships for the Vian Wrestling Club, while Samuel Gilbreath was first and Axel Davis was fourth at 45 pounds in the age 4-and-younger division.

At 64 pounds in the open age 8-and-younger division, Keaton Gregory was second and Klasen Couch was third for the Vian Wrestling Club, while James Constant was runner-up and Case Holloway was third at 105-111 pounds in the open age 8-and-younger division.

Sawyer Locust (52 pounds, age 6-and-younger division), Hendrix Gates (61 pounds, open age 8-and-younger division), Oaklen Choate (52-55 pounds, open age 10-and-younger division), Johnny Crutchfield (80 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Gage Hines (105 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Rocky Ford (120 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Ike Payne (80-86 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division), Brentley Smith (140 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division) and Madalynn Turman (95-100 pounds, girls age 10-and-younger division) were all second for the Vian Wrestling Club.

Coming in third for the Vian Wrestling Club were Tae Constant (60-62 pounds, age 6-and-younger division), Anders Gilbreath (73 pounds, open age 10-and-younger division), Zayn Vinson (73-76 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Josh Constant (88 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division) and Ella Hoffarth (115123 pounds, girls age 12-and-younger division). Gatlin Gates (40-43 pounds, age 6-and-younger division), Rhett Bigbey (58 pounds, open age 8-and-younger division), Solomon Barnes (67 pounds, open age 8-and-younger division), Nacoma Drum (70 pounds, girls age 10-and-younger division), Blair Barnes (91-95 pounds, girls age 12-and-younger division), Leila Cheater (102-110 pounds, girls age 15-and-younger division) and Katie Reason (117-126 pounds, girls age 15-and-younger division) were fourth for the Vian Wrestling Club.

Several Brushy Wrestling Club members placed at last Saturday’s tournament, highlighted by Abel Glover winning two titles, the 76-pound title in the open 10-and-younger division and the 73-76-pound championship in the open 12-and-younger division.

Liliana Guerrero placed in three weight classes for the Brushy Wrestling Club, winning two of them. She was the 75-pound champion in the open age 8-and-younger division and the winner in the 57-67 pound division in the girls age 10-and-younger division, while she was fourth at 64 pounds in the open age 8-and-younger division, with two more members also being multiple-placers as Isaac Glover won the 75-pound title in the open age 8-and-younger division and was runner-up at 76 pounds in the open age 10-and-younger division.

Tristan Price (61-64 pounds, open age 10-and-younger division), Cooper Price (80-86 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division), Avie Lamp (74-78 pounds, girls age 10-and-younger division) and Ruby Johnson (88 pounds, girls age 10-and-younger division) also won championships for the Brushy Wrestling Club.

At 115-122 pounds in the girls 10-and-younger division, McKynlee Cantrell was first and Jessie Bentley was second, while Cantrell was runner-up at 115-123 pounds in the girls age 12-and-younger division for the Brushy Wrestling Club.

Pattrick Fletcher was runner-up at 92 pounds in the open age 12-and-younger division and at 92-98 pounds in the open age 15-and-younger division for the Brushy Wrestling Club, while Hayley Bentley was second and Rocklyn Johnson was third at 102110 pounds in the girls age 15-and-younger division, William Harrison (43 pounds, open age 8-and-younger division) and Ezlynn Bentley (40-46 pounds, girls age 6-and-younger division) were runners-up, Hattie Price (40-43 pounds, open age 6-and-younger division) and Paisley Edgington (62 pounds, girls age 8-and-younger division) were third and Alyvia Barrett was third and Kylie McInerney was fourth at 5767 pounds in the girls age 10-and-younger for the Brushy Wrestling Club.

In last Saturday’s Black Diamond Classic, the Roland Youth Wrestling League saw several members place.

For the Roland Youth Wrestling League, Kacen Copeland won the championship at 140 pounds in the open age 15-and-younger division, Ross Richards (49 pounds, age 6-and-younger division), Kord Earnhart (75 pounds, open age 8-and-younger division), Channing Davidson (heavyweight, open age 10-and-younger division), Tye Richards (61-64 pounds, open age 10-and-younger division), Ripken Eubanks (131-135 pounds, open age 10-and-younger division) and Tommy Greschke (112-119 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division) all were runners-up and Griffey Eubanks (60-62 pounds, age 6-andyounger), Chipper Stubbs (73 pounds, open age 10-and-younger division) and Krew Schuetz (110 pounds, open age 10-and-younger division) were fourth.

Several Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling members placed in Saturday’s tournament.

Two Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling members, Beau Moore (112-119 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division) and Stryker Sandy (155 pounds, open age 15-and-younger division) won championships.

Hastin Chitty (40-43 pounds, age 6-and-younger division) and Isabella Mannon (70 pounds, girls age 10-and-younger division) were runners-up, Gus Smith (64-70 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division) and Ella Barrett (83 pounds, girls age 8-and-younger division) were third and Laiken Andrews (92 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division), Aiden Robertson (105 pounds, open age 12-and-younger) and Stryker Randolph (110 pounds, open age 12-and-younger division) were fourth.
