Diamond Daze Festival scheduled for June 12-15
Diamond Daze Festival is set to take place June 12-15 on the Sallisaw High School campus, according to a release by the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce, sponsors of the event.
Chamber officials say that like in the past, there will be something for everyone. There will be a high steaks grilling contest, arts and crafts, pony rides, helicopter rides, 5K run, talent contest, games and rides on the carnival midway, not to mention entertainment on the Diamond Daze Stage.
The four-day festival opens with back-to-back family nights where you can ride all the rides for one low price on armband night and “no” parking charge. Food will be available on the midway, or play carnival games and ride all the rides on these two family nights.
On Friday, June 14, Diamond Daze is presenting Sequoyah County Live, which will feature Tacie and the Sunshine Band and Reckless Stones performing beginning at 7 p.m. “You don't want to miss Sequoyah County's best bands as they take the stage, so come early, ride the rides and enjoy great music,” Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Marty Green said. “It's Sequoyah County Live on Friday night at Sallisaw Diamond Daze and only $5 parking charge.”
One of contemporary Christian's hottest bands, Tenth Avenue North, will be performing Saturday at 7:30 p.m., June 15, closing out the festival. 10th Avenue North is a DOVE award winner and perform such songs as “You Are More,” “Strong Enough to Save,” “Control,” “By Your Side,” and “Love is Here.”
Admission is free on Wednesday and Thursday to the carnival. There is a $5 parking charge on Friday and Saturday to the grounds. Concert tickets are $15 in advance (online) or $20 the day of the show at the gate. Tickets can be purchased on the Sallisaw Chamber Website.
The schedule is subject to change.
