Dr. Rick Robbins announces retirement
Northeastern Health System Sequoyah Hospital announces the retirement of Dr. Rick Robbins.
Robbins, whose last day of work will be on Feb. 27, has practiced medicine in Sequoyah County and the area for the past 42 years, according to hospital officials.
“It is with bittersweet reluctance that I announce my retirement,” Robbins said.
“I want to thank everyone, the community and NHS Sequoyah Hospital, deeply for entrusting me with their health care needs. I love you all and I will miss everyone here. I wish everyone good health and happy memories.” Robbins said he plans to spend more time and “have fun” with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Stephanie Six, administrator of NHS Sequoyah, said Dr. Robbins will be “greatly” missed. “He is a pillar in our community and a great asset to the hospital and the medical community. We wish him “happiness and fun” in his retirement,” Six said.
A reception for Robbins will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 27 at the hospital, Six said.
“The public is invited to stop by and share memories and celebrate Dr. Robbins path to a new journey. We invite everyone.”
Six said Dr. Chris Orendorff will now be seeing patients for Dr. Robbins beginning March 1.
