Man beaten early Thursday
The Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department is investigating an incident which happened Thursday morning involving a Vian man who was beaten and may have suffered a bullet grazing, according to an OHP spokesman who said they assisted with the incident.
Sequoyah County Sheriff Larry Lane said the case is still under investigation and no charges have yet been filed against any individuals who may be responsible.
“We got the call around 8 am. The incident happened around the lake bottoms area between Vian and Sallisaw,” Lane said. He added there was alcohol involved and the man was still seeking medical attention as of press time.
Lane said the man appeared to have injuries to his face and head and there might have been more than one individual responsible for his injuries according to the victim.
Sallisaw OHP Public Information Officer Adam Wood said the man was grazed by a bullet and might have been beaten with a baseball bat.
