Muldrow man disappears while on hunting trip
A search was continuing as of press time Tuesday for an 87-year-old Muldrow man who went missing during a hunting trip in the southwest region of Colorado.
According to information reported by family members and friends, Alvie Webb went missing Saturday morning in the mountains near Dolores, Colo., with his son and grandson and a small group of men.
A family friend told reporters that Webb, a former teacher and Muldrow principal, was dropped off Saturday morning to go to his hunting spot. The group reportedly told Webb they would return to pick him up about 10 a.m.
When Webb's son returned to pick him up, Webb was not at the appointed spot. After waiting for a short time, Webb's son started looking for him on the trail but could not locate him. The son then called search and rescue.
The search and rescue team, blood hounds, volunteers and helicopters have been searching the area since that day, but had not been able to locate him as of press time Tuesday.
Family members have told the press Webb had no disabilities, was “sharp as a tack,” and would have known to fire a shot to let others know he was in trouble.
