SCWA closes doors business continues
The Sequoyah County Water Association began closing its doors Thursday in response to the Coronavirus pandemic and will continue to keep them closed until March 31, Vance Mooney, manager of SCWA, said.
Mooney said SCWA office employees will be in the office and can accept payments by phone, online or they can be left in the drop box.
“Anyone with an emergency may call the office and we will take care of it,” Mooney said.
“We want to get the word out so customers can prepare for this when their next bill comes in. After some discussion, we decided to close our doors to the public for the safety of our employees as well as the public. We decided to begin this Thursday and we have signs on the door but we just want everyone to be prepared when it comes time for them to pay their water bill.”
Mooney said the regular meeting of the SCWA board will be held at its regular time at 6 p.m. March 31 at the SCWA office located at 3320 W. Cherokee Avenue.
“If things should change before then, we will let the public know,” he said.
