Clearance 13ft., 9in

Westbound traffic on Cherokee Ave. had to be diverted Thursday morning when a flatbed trailer hauling a backhoe didn't quite make the clearance at the KCS underpass. The backhoe apparently struck the underpass, knocking it partially off the trailer. Traffic was backed up for about an hour and diverted around the wreck.

Marble City Fireworks Show

Marble City held their annual fireworks show Saturday with many who showed up for the event. The event included live entertainment provided by a local band Whiskey Revolver which includes guitarist Eardie Six, who is also the town’s firechief. There were also concessions which included Indian Tacos and drinks. “It was a pretty good fireworks show,” E.O. Smith, Cherokee Nation tribal councilman, said. “Quite a few people came out.”

Drive-thru service

Your TIMES first-ever Drive-Thru Retirement Fair was a huge success. Though the Retirement Fair had a different approach and feel this year due to COVID-19 and recommendations from the CDC, it was well attended and well received. Over 320 people came by on Saturday to pick up their “Senior Swag” bag filled with information, coupons, treats and goodies that were provided by local services and businesses.
