Jimmie Jewell Vandiver Cantrell
Funeral services for Jimmie Jewell Vandiver Cantrell, 88, of Roland, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Muldrow.
Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cantrell was born on Oct. 13, 1931, in Boswell to Jewell Jefferson Vandiver and Myrtle Irene (West) Adair. She died on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, in Roland.
She started working at Bank of Commerce in Stilwell in 1965. She worked in the banking field for 20 years. After retirement she worked as a Tour Escort for LK & Company in Wagoner for six years.
She married Roy Leslie Cantrell on April 18, 1949, in Tahlequah. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2004.
Survivors include five children, Janice Faye Cantrell, Pat Cantrell and Leslie Dewayne Cantrell all of Roland, Curtis Ray Cantrell and Judy of Clinton, Miss., and Lorrie Sue (Cantrell) Matlock of Muldrow; two sisters, Mary Francis (Adair) Hensley of Tahlequah and Darlene (Vandiver) Moore of Garland, Texas; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Earl, Byrl, Edward Lewis, Danny Joe and Walter Scott “Scottie” Adair Jr.; and four sisters, Anita Jean ( Van-diver) Ray, Nina Lou (Adair) Hudson, Eula Marie (Adair) Hunter and Thadda Sue (Adair) Horn.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Davis, Matthew Matlock, Cory Sloan, Ron Hudson, John Horn and Charley Jones.
Viewing is 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Muldrow. The family will greet from 6 to 8 p.m.
