Sallisaw Police were called to the Sallisaw Sports Complex around noon Saturday after a verbal altercation took place between a couple of parents.
According to the 911 report, an argument erupted between two coaches of opposing teams and the caller requested help from the police.
The incident took place during a softball tournament held this past weekend for eight year olds, a witness stated.
Sallisaw Police Chief Terry Franklin said police were called after the two got into an argument. When the argument became heated, officers were reportedly called.
Franklin said Sallisaw Police Officer Cody Biles, who responded, reported no one was arrested but the two were asked to leave at the request of the tournament director.
“They were just asked to get to the edge of the property. One had to leave on foot,” Franklin said.
