Celebrating five days of the 4th at Lake Tenkiller

By Amie Cato-Remer

Celebrating five days of the 4th at Lake Tenkiller Amie Cato-remer Fri, 07/01/2022 - 05:34

The No Wake Zone at Lake Tenkiller will be celebrating five days of the 4th with their first annual July 4 public event, which will take place from Thursday, June 30, to Monday, July 4, at the No Wake Zone, located across from the Tenkiller State Park entrance.

Owners of the No Wake Zone, Shane and Tina Buttery, said they are super excited about this year's festivities, which will include live music, cornhole, food trucks, drinks, merchandise, a karaoke contest and much more.

“The gates will open at noon daily and will close when the party is over,” Shane said.

There will be free entry from noon to 5 p.m. and then a $10 gate fee after 5 p.m.

“We will be giving away a $100 cash prize nightly to the best karaoke singer competing,” Tina said. “A grand prize karaoke winner will also be selected on July 4.”

The karaoke contest will start at 6 p.m. nightly before the bands hit the stage. There will also be $1,500 in prizes for karaoke night on Thursday.

Live music will include a Motley Crue tribute band on Friday night; a Van Halen tribute band on Saturday, a Garth Brooks tribute band on Sunday; and karaoke, live music from some local talent and the Tenkiller Fireworks show on Monday.

“There will also be a slot machine set up that will give players a chance to win vacation packages,” Tina said.

You must be 21 and over to enter the inside of the No Wake Zone during the five day, July 4 holiday celebration.

Shane and Tina said they have been working diligently to bring this event to Tenkiller and after the event, they have plans to build a cover over the business and to add a pizzeria so they can have live entertainment all year round.

“We will also be able to deliver homemade pizza to the lake lovers,” Shane said. “We're planning on opening up this fall and adding football on a big screen for all you football fans out there.”

“Finally, Tenkiller will have something all year round for everyone, even movies in the park to come while enjoying homemade pizza,” Tina said.

For more information or to reserve a VIP tables, contact Tina at 918-235-1069. “Let's make this a safe Independence celebration to remember!” the couple said.
