Roland Middle School TSA was named National Champions in System Control Technology at the 2022 National TSA Conference. The conference was held June 26-30 in Dallas, Texas, with 6,000 attendees.

This year‚s theme was Discover Your Journey, epitomizing TSA‚s 44 years of intra-curricular activities, competitions and other programs that provide members with opportunities for personal and leadership de velopment and enhanced education and career exposure in STEM.
TSA competitions are made up of middle and high school student members who compete in 70 plus STEM competitive events. Students were challenged by Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science (TEAMS), which featured the theme Engineering in Entertainment.
Fifth through eighth grade student members designed, built and raced solar-powered vehicles in the JSS finals, administered by TSA and funded by the Army Educational Outreach Program.
The TSA VEX Robotics Competition and the TSA VEX IQ Challenge national championships drew high school and middle school competitors from around the nation.
Roland TSA students attending the conference and their awards included: Easton Rainwater, first place MS System Control Technology, fifth place Prepared Speech, 10th place Problem Solving; Mason O‚Neal, first place MS System Control Technology, fifth place Structural Engineering; Connor Stacy, first place MS System Control Technology, fifth place Structural Engineering; Anais Gibson, National Qualifier; Mackenzie O‚Neal, seventh place HS System Control Technology; Suzy Greer, seventh place HS System Control Technology; Michala Richards, seventh place HS System Control Technology; Lane Tate, National Qualifier; Cambrey Hull, National Qualifier; Camryn Hull, National Qualifier; and Robert Pike, 10th place Problem Solving.
