Members hear inspiring message

By Billie Anthony

Members hear inspiring message Billie Anthony Wed, 07/20/2022 - 06:43

This week we had 10 ladies weigh in. Billie had our best weight loss of 2.3 pounds! Weigh to go!! Phyllis had her name drawn for the Two Bit Bowl and she received the quarters. The Chapter Challenge for this coming week is to come in next with a weight loss. We had six ribbons removed from the surprise box and six Lotto blocks filled with weight loss names. We have five more blocks to fill with names and then a name will be drawn to get a winner for this contest. Billie had our program

Billie had our program today and also made a few announcements from TOPS CLUB: (1) A letter is being sent out to members in our area that are still eligible to rejoin for only $37 rather than the new member fee of $49. The new rules state that our membership doesn‚t lapse for 3 YEARS now (instead of 1 year). Which is a great benefit for those members who joined but maybe haven‚t renewed. (2) Officer Charts are due. (3) Reservations can be made for 2023 State Recognition Day in Shawnee. The last notice was to let us know our quilt squares for the TOPS Quilt to be raffled off at SRD. The dimensions need to be 10 inches by 10 inches but leave a one inch border ( 9×9 ) and keep your design well within that measurement.

Billie read an inspiring message from Barb Cady. In our TOPS and KOPS pledges, it starts out with “I am an intelligent person”. She has used that line many times when she had struggled to learn from her mistakes and make a wiser choice the next time. The lesson learned was to be intelligent enough to ask other members facing similar challenges with their weight for help, to listen to their tips, experiences and suggestions, and to apply them to making changes for a lifetime with your doctor‚s guidance as well.(this is a shortened version of Barb‚s article).

We also discussed our Fun Day Aug. 13 and did some art work on some of the decorations. We will be working on another decoration next week. We also plan on meeting at Ruger‚s restaurant for our Chapter Installation of Officers. We will weigh in at church and then drive over to the restaurant. We will also be celebrating our fourth Anniversary as a TOPS Chapter.

We closed our meeting with the TOPS Pledge.

We are going on four years as a chapter. EVERYONE is invited to visit. The first visit is FREE. It cost $49 a year to join TOPS Club INC. We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10am and the meeting starts at 11am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/413-1383. We look forward to meeting you.
