A Tuesday evening accident on Interstate-40 has left two people in stable condition according to an accident report issued by Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Trooper Brice Earls #426 of the Se
Trooper Brice Earls #426 of the Sequoyah County Detachment of Troop C reported the collision occurred at 11:34 p.m. near the 314 mile marker, three miles east of Sallisaw. Earls said Rebecca Lawrence, 72, of Oklahoma City was traveling westbound in a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria when she reportedly departed the roadway to the left, rolling the car three times before it came to a rest on its top. Lawrence was transported by Pafford EMS to Baptist Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark. where she was admitted in stable condition with head, arm and internal injuries.
Her passenger, Bryon Ochs, 50, of Oklahoma City, was also transported by Pafford EMS to Baptist Hospital where he was admitted in stable condition with minor neck injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation as of press time. Earls said Lawrence was wearing her seatbelt but Ochs was not.
Earls was assisted by the Sequoyah County Sheriff‚s Office, and both the Muldrow and Sallisaw Fire Departments.
