Sallisaw TOPS

By Billie Anthony, News Staff

Sallisaw TOPS Billie Anthony Fri, 08/12/2022 - 05:55

Monday we had 10 members in attendance. Five of us lost weight this week with Willene being our biggest weight loss with 1.5 pounds. Way to go, Willene! Keep up the good work. Neve‚s name was drawn from the Two Bit Bowl, but the money went to the treasurer. The Loser‚s Lotto contest that began April 25 ended today with Annette‚s name being drawn. Congrats, Annette! We began a new Loser‚s Lotto contest. We all put in $3 each to get enrolled in the contest. Leader‚s challenge this week is to get up and move during an hour of your favorite TV program.

The program today was a handout sheet entitled “The TOPS 10 Ways to Treat Yourself Without the Treats.” A couple of examples are: Crochet a blanket for yourself or a friend. Also you can paint rocks like those seen on social media and leave them in a public place for others to find! Keeping your mind and hands busy will help from snacking.

We also had time to prepare Door Prizes for our upcoming Quarterly Fun Day this coming Saturday. We will be hosting eight chapters. Our theme is Summer Daze and look forward to fun, fellowship, good food and lots of awards. We will also be celebrating installation of Officers with the other chapters. There will be hot air balloons, cornhole games, bubbles and cute summer outfits.

We are encouraging others to join our chapter and since we are celebrating our four-year anniversary we are going to give anyone that joins in the month of August a $5 discount. Instead of $49 for a new member, the price to join will be $44. If you are a former member and membership expired in the last three years, you can still join for $37. If you want to visit us to see what happens at a TOPS meeting, your first visit is free.

We are going on four years as a chapter. EVERYONE is invited to visit. The first visit is FREE. It cost $49 a year to join TOPS Club INC. We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. We begin weighing at 10 a.m. and the meeting starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918-413-1383. We look forward to meeting you.
