What’s involved in producing a left-handed newspaper? News Staff Fri, 08/12/2022 - 05:55
As you‚ve already noticed, after you may have tried to take a pair of right-handed scissors to cut along the right edge of the front page trying to get into this edition of Your TIMES, this is a lefthanded paper and, therefore, was printed opposite of what you‚re used to.
As you‚ll read in the left-handed articles throughout today‚s newspaper, southpaws are confronted with many obstacles, especially related to equipment. Obviously, a newspaper printing press is also not geared to accommodate lefties. In order to print today‚s issue, the pages — after being built on the computer — had to be flipped upside down before being transmitted to the printing plant. The newspaper was then printed as usual, although as it came off the press, it appeared upside down and backwards.
Whether your newspaper made it to your mailbox or you just want to share it with your left-handed friends, extra copies are available at Your TIMES, 111 N. Oak Street.
