The Vian Board of Education met on Aug. 8 where they approved multiple items for the new 2022-23 school year. The board voted to reimburse the certified teachers fee of Adjunct Certification Application filed with Oklahoma Department of Education; approved Indian Capital Technology Center providing Mathematics and Science to be counted for graduation credit for 2022-23; and Leah Agent as an adjunct instructor for Anatomy and Physiology.

District capacity numbers and transfer vacancies were approved, effective Aug. 8; along with a revision of the Middle School handbook.

The board also voted to unanimously approve a Baseball Coaching stipend; employ a Paraprofessional; and for Alvie Killingsworth and Joanna Hawley to be granted career status for the new school year.

A fundraiser request was approved for the Boys Basketball Booster Club: Football Concession, Youth Basketball League (Oct./Nov.), Tshirts (Dec./Jan.), Ads for Scoreboards (Dec.-Feb.) and an Italian Dinner Night (Dec.).

After reconvening from an executive session, the board voted to approve the resignation of Devon Harvell Bannister, effective immediately, and to employ a new cook.

• Student Promotion and Retention

• Use of Multiple Occupancy Restrooms and Changing Areas

• Mental Health Accommodations • Student Transfers

• Student Transfers— two forms (RESCIND IF IN MANUAL/APPENDIX) • Save Women‚s Sports Act

• Resource Information

REAL ESTATE AUCTION

on Student Identification Cards

• Transgender Individuals • Internet and Technology Safety Encumbrances #340-364 and changes for a net increase of $84,027.08 within the 2022-2023 General Funds, #4 and changes increase of $24,709.23 within the 2022-2023 Building Fund, numbers — and changes increase of $ —–within the 2022-2023 Building Bond Fund, numbers – and changes for a net increase of $ —–within the 2022-2023 Sinking Fund were all approved.

The Vian Board of Education meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office.
