A Sallisaw woman is facing drug charges, including a felony count of unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute (Fentanyl) after being found in possession of the drug during an executed search warrant by authorities.
Leitaea R. Lowrimore, 24, was charged Aug. 16 in Sequoyah County District Court and received a $26,000 bond. She is now scheduled for an Aug. 24 arraignment before Associate District Judge Kyle Waters.
She is also charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine, heroin, Fentanyl powder) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sequoyah County Sheriff‚s investigator Chris Grizzle reported on Aug. 12 that he and other members of the Sheriff‚s Office executed a search warrant where Lowrimore had been staying, room 12 of the El Siesta motel in Vian.
When officers announced their presence they received no response so they entered the room to find Lowrimore, Melissa Griffin, Josey Beard and Milton Ramos, who were all detained.
During the search process, police reported finding a lockbox containing a metal container with 16 blue pills inside marked M/30, a container with a white crystal substance, a container with purple powder, and a plastic wrapper containing a brown tar substance.
Also located were glass smoking devices, a grinder with residue, and a bottle marked Lidocaine half full of a white powdery substance.
Following the search, Lowrimore was arrested and transported to the Sequoyah County Detention Center and all the other occupants were reportedly released from the scene, according to the affidavit.
District Attorney Jack Thorp said unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute is punishable by imprisonment in the custody of the the Department of Corrections for not more than five years and a fine of not more than $20,000.
