The Bible study group that meets each Wednesday evening at Simple Simon‚s Pizza (2401 East Cherokee Ave., Sallisaw) will celebrate their one-year anniversary on Wednesday, Sept. 7. The group began meeting at Simple Simon‚s on Sept. 1, 2021, studying the book of Jeremiah. Focusing on the Bible as God‚s Holy word, the attendees, who are from various denominations, explore and study the word of God together.
Each attendee is provided a study guide of cross references related to the chapter of Jeremiah being studied. The discussions among the attendees are lively and enjoyable, even as they address serious topics. The study is supported by PowerPoint presentations that include photos and paintings related to the text being studied.
“The study group provides an opportunity to really get to know God and experience the fun and enrichment of delving into God‚s Word with others,” Linda Stewart said, and attendee of the study group.
The group facilitator, Jeannie Richardson, offers an educational and fresh approach, referencing other books of the Bible that share the message of each verse of Jeremiah.
