Board votes to employ certified, non-certified personnel for new school year

The Muldrow Board of Education met on Aug. 8, where they voted to employ certified, noncertified and certified part-time positions for the 2022-23 school year.

Casey Earls was hired as a high school science teacher, Rhianna Maxfield as a high school history teacher and Kristine Thompson as a third grade teacher, all on temporary contracts.

Stefaine Cook was hired as a cook; and Jackie Branscum, Brookelyn Meeks and Michelle Partain as paraprofessionals, all on temporary contracts.

Those receiving employment for certified part-time positions on temporary contracts were Tracy Ryan, middle school English teacher and Kathy English, Special Education Director.

The substitute teacher list approved for the 2022-2023 school year includes: (Certified) Betty Kelley, James O‚Bryan, Betty Peters, Michele Rhodes, Tamara Smith-Allen; (Non-Certified) Paige Burleson, Debhora Cook, Darrel Darden, Monica Daws, Micki Deck, Kenzy Dollens, Danette Edwards, Lindsey Evans, Bertha Farmer, David Farrell, Cassady Faulkner, Trevon Fowler, Aleesha Fricks, Austin Gibbs, Renea Gibson, Errikka Gonzales, Hannah Grant, Joshua Hannam, Belinda Hixon, Micheyla James, Liz Johnson, Bryan Jones, Dinah Jones, Kalli Jones, Carolyn Jordan, Alice Long, Danny Long, David Lopez, Chelsea Marr, Lillian Mc-Clurg, Alice Faye Milteer, Taylor Morgan, Jackie Patterson, Madelyn Reeves, Lanette Shoemaker, Trina Shuey, Karen Smith, Peggy Sowersby, Tori Stephenson, Marlena Tehee, Hannah Treat and Linda Waters.

Tim Parrish was also approved as a substitute bus driver for the 2022-2023 school year, while resignations were accepted from Jennifer Barker, Ronnie Brown and Haley Falkner.

Superintendent Clifta Fugett discussed the annual CCOSA/ OSSBA Convention, reviewed the August Calendar, and reviewed the State Aid Allocations and stimulus funds, during the superintendent‚s report; and changes were approved for the Middle School and High School Student handbook.

The Annual Contract for the Career & Technology Education Programs with the State Vocational Department was approved, along with sanctioning of the Band Boosters; Basketball Boosters; FFA Boosters and Speech Boosters.

The following 2022-23 Encumbrances were also approved in GF #176 to 216 for $151,386.89 and in Building Fund #4 to 6 for $20,300; Payroll in GF #50023 to 50168 for $8,297,123.79; in the Co-op Fund #50000 for $14,898.03; and in the Building Fund #50002 to 50009 for $41,790.25.

The board also approved to allow math and science courses delivered at ICTC to be counted for graduation credit; to appoint School Board President Dowen Green as the delegate for the 2022 OSSBA Delegate Assembly; allow the campus police department to use reserve officers as needed for ballgames and other school activities; and a list of items as surplus and allow them to be sold through auction.

The following polices of the District were changed as listed: DPD; DE-R1; EGG; EHDF; FEF and GKF.

Green made a motion to approve paying a stipend to mentor teachers who have completed 120 hours with their residency year teacher: Kristen London for Carissa Campbell and Kristine Thompson; Maranda Limore for Baylee Sessums; Becky Prewett for Zane Rose; Carla Farley for Sibyl Morton; Adam Pool for Charles Melby; Jamie Patterson for Tanner Ryan; Renee Claborn for Jace Newby; Amanda Reeves for Haley Kalua and Catherine Peterson; Janelle Tyler for David Thomas; Lori Likens for Paige Lattimore; Donna Wilson for Kasey Earls and Greg Caughman for Rhianna Maxfield..

The Muldrow Board of Education meets at 6 p.m. in the Administration/ Cafetorium Building– Boardroom on the High School Campus, the second Monday of each month for their regular scheduled meetings.
