Artwork on Elm Street

Daniel Walters, an award-winning artist from Muldrow, recently completed the mural “Americana” on a wall on Elm Street in Sallisaw. Walters has completed commissioned work for original art, portraits and murals in the U.S. and Canada. He said the finished mural has gained interest from classic car enthusiasts in other states who have plans to make a special trip to Sallisaw and use the mural as a backdrop for photos. Walters said he is currently working on another mural in Sallisaw and several other art projects. He was a guest speaker recently at the Sequoyah County Historical Society meeting. The historical society is also housing some of Walters‚ work, he said.
