Members learn about Medicare plans

By Billie Anthony

Members learn about Medicare plans Billie Anthony Thu, 09/01/2022 - 22:07

Monday we had eight members and 1 visitor in attendance. Four lost weight this week with Doris and Willene tying for being our biggest weight loss with 2.1 pounds each. Way to go, Doris and Willene! Keep up the good work! JoAnn brought in her goal slip this week, she is now thinking it over if she wants to declare her KOPS status. Leader‚s challenge this week is to eat three veggies and one fruit each day for four days Our program came from Resa Peeler of Walters Insurance Company. She explained to the group about Medicare Advantage. She explained about Part A and Part B make up original Medicare. Original Medicare will pay 80 percent after deductibles are met, leaving the remaining 20 percent up to you. Original Medicare does not include prescription, dental or vision benefits. Part C also known as Medicare Advantage is a health plan through a private company. This offers you greater protection than original Medicare alone and many plans offer prescription coverage, dental and vision benefits, over the counter benefits, monthly food benefits and much more. Not everyone is eligible for the same plan, nor is there the Best plan, everyone is different! Another way of covering the Medicare coverage gap are Medicare Supplement Plans.
