Green, Jiles named to 2A-6 All-District softball team

Central High School senior Azlin Green and sophomore Ayrland Jiles were recently named to the 2A-6 All-District softball (fastpitch) team by the district‚s coaches.

Green, an outfielder, batted .309 this season with 18 singles, four doubles, two triples and one home run. Green also successfully stole 18 bases (18 for 18).

Jiles registered 110 strikeouts while pitching all 32 of the Lady Tigers‚ games this season. At the plate Jiles hit .447 with 16 doubles and five home runs whil...

Green, an outfielder, batted .309 this season with 18 singles, four doubles, two triples and one home run. Green also successfully stole 18 bases (18 for 18).

Jiles registered 110 strikeouts while pitching all 32 of the Lady Tigers‚ games this season. At the plate Jiles hit .447 with 16 doubles and five home runs while driving in 37 runs.

Pocola, the 2A-6 champion and Class 2A state runner-up this season, garnered two of the top awards, Player of the Year (Allyssa Parker) and Offensive Player of the Year (Kail Chitwood). Howe‚s Kadynce Delt was named Pitcher of the Year and Oktaha‚s Brynn Surmont was chosen Defensive Player of the Year. Pocola‚s Eddie Combs and Howe‚s Richie Nye shared the Coach of the Year award.

Other players selected All-District were: Pocola: pitcher Maci Maxwell, third baseman Kylee Smith and utility Bailey Lairamore; Howe: catcher Gracie Lute, first baseman Kaelbi Duvall, second baseman Karsyn Nye, outfielder Ashlyn Dalton and utility Abby Huie; Panama: utility Krista Dotson; Oktaha: utility Payton Bryan and Ava Scott; Hulbert: utility Alyssa Fair; Colcord: pitcher Maddison Hamilton, catcher Shanie Barbee and outfielder Paytin Crittenden; Chouteau-Mazie: shortstop Chesney Inglit.
