CASC nursing program named as one of the best

By News Staff

Carl Albert State College (CASC) is proud to announce that the nursing program has been featured in the annual list of Best RN Programs by RegisteredNursing. org. Nursing programs in the running were assessed on several factors which represent how well a program supports students towards licensure and beyond. The group analyzed past and present first-time NCLEX-RN “pass-rates” – weighted by year.

The awarding group states that a great way to measure a great nursing school is by examining how well a school supports students through licensure and beyond. A great way to measure this is through NCLEX-RN ‘pass rates.’ According to their website, the group ranked the top 20 nursing schools in Oklahoma by analyzing current and historical NCLEX-RN ‘pass rates’, meaning the percentage of graduates who pass the exam, out of the 46 RN programs in the state.

The Carl Albert-Sallisaw nursing program had a NCLEX passing rate of 97.77 percent, with Carl Albert-Poteau‚s program close on its heels with a 94.99 percent pass rate.

“There are many prestigious Oklahoma nursing schools listed in the group‚s panel of top Oklahoma nursing schools,” President Jay Falkner said. “We‚re extremely proud of our nursing program for placing in the top three. This is a testament to the hard work of our faculty and staff, but ultimately the dedication and diligence of our students.”

“I am so proud of my team and our students,” Marcia Cullum, Program Director, said. “We work so hard as a team to ensure our students are set up for success to not only join the nursing field with confidence, but in the end, to provide wonderful care to the patients they‚ll serve throughout their career.”

Applications for the Carl Albert nursing program are available now open. For more information about joining this prestigious, award-winning program, visit www.carlalbert.edu.
