A felony arrest warrant has been issued for a Sallisaw woman charged with larceny of an automobile. Regina L. Kaderly, 26, was charged Nov. 2 in Sequoyah County District Court after she reportedly borrowed a vehicle from another individual and never returned it. Sallisaw Police officer Joshua Rogers reported just before midnight on Oct. 20, he responded to Garden Walk Apartments in reference to an unauthorized use of motor vehicle and met with the reporting party.
The reporting party said earlier in the day, she let a woman named “Gina” borrow her vehicle to drive to Fort Smith and they agreed she would return it by 7 p.m. According to the probable cause affidavit, Kaderly agreed to have the vehicle back by that time because she would have to go to work.
The reporting party said she tried calling Kaderly on her cell phone but she wouldn‚t answer. She described her vehicle as being a gold/beige colored 4-door 2003 Buick sedan with a busted window and defective tag light.
When the officer checked with Kaderly‚s place of work, he was told she had not shown up for work that day or notified them that she wouldn‚t be there.
Rogers then went to a residence where Kaderly was reportedly staying and was told by the resident she had stayed there a few days but her belongings were now gone. The officer also tried sending Kaderly a text, telling her to return the vehicle but she never responded.
The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen and Associate District Judge Kyle Waters has set Kaderly‚s bond at $5,000, according to the affidavit.
If found guilty of the charge, District Attorney Jack Thorp said the crime is punishable by imprisonment in the Department of Corrections for a term not exceeding five years or by a fine in an amount that is equal to three times the value of the property stolen, or by fine and imprisonment, and restitution.
