Webbers Falls just couldn’t get enough to go right during last Thursday’s 46-0 loss to Quinton.
Warriors head coach Trent Holt wasn’t able to string together the offense’s abilities to move the ball long enough to get into the endzone during the game.
“We just didn’t play decent enough for long enough,” Holt said. “We moved the ball a little bit and we made some good plays, but we missed a whole bunch of tackles.”
The Warriors will have to work on that if they want to best Keota this Friday in the first playoff game of the season.
“I think we figured two or three touchdowns we had the kids wrapped up, but they’d shake the tackles. I was disappointed that we got beat.”
The game started with Webbers Falls getting behind, and just piled on from there. The flashes of greatness just weren’t enough to stop the Savages, and their defense held up against the Warriors’ offensive efforts.
“At times we were playing pretty decent, even though I know the score didn’t look like it. They’re a pretty good football team,” Holt recalled.
Webbers Falls travels to Keota for a 7 p.m. Friday kickoff as post-season play gets underway.
