Cleo Taylor

Taylor is the son of James Felix and Mellie Edgmon Taylor.

Corporal Cleo Taylor enlisted in the U.S. Army and received his basic training from Fort Sill. He served with Batter C, 77th Field Artillery Battalion.

On March 26, 1944, Corporal Taylor was killed in action on the Anzio Beachhead in Italy. He was in his fourth major campaign, having safely gone through the North African, Sicily and Southern Italy campaigns.

He had been overseas for 16 months.
