Pvt. Eugene Davis was inducted into the United States Army on April 14, 1943.
Pvt. Eugene Davis was inducted into the United States Army on April 14, 1943.
He served as a rifleman with the 7th Infantry in the Italian campaign.
Davis was listed as missing in action for three days while scouting enemy territory. He was sent to the front lines and wounded three times.
He received the Good Conduct Medal, EAME, four Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart.
Davis was honorable discharged on Dec. 5, 1944 while in Brooke General Hospital at Fort Sam, Houston, Texas.
He is the husband of Carlotta Taylor.
