Millard W McCormack is an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was drafted January 23, 1951 and served in active duty until October 23, 1952. He received his Honorable Discharge on September 27, 1956 from the Army Reserve. He served as a Corporal with the 24th Infantry Division, 3rd Engineer Combat Batallion, D Company on the enemy front lines in active combat from June 1951 to March 1952.
He is also pictured here in front of one of the military trucks he drove while in the combat zone. He tells of one time his company began to take on mortar fire while in the fox holes during one of the many battles. Most of the times his superiors would choose to ride with him. He recalls one time during combat as he returned to the truck, he glanced at his sergeant who had blood running down his face but all he heard was “Drive Mack!”
