Sgt. Roy “Skip” Duty Jr.
Was drafted into the U.S.
Army in October 1966 and began his tour of duty in Vietnam in August 1967.
He was assigned to the 2nd 94th Artillery and was stationed at Camp JJ Carol, which was about a mile from the Delilitarized Zone or DMZ.
Duty said, “Our job was to shoot support for the 3rd Marines Infantry, Khe Sanh, Rock Pile and Dong Ha. While there I was in Headquarters Battery 36 KLO communications.”
Duty was honorable discharged from the Army after two years of service.
