During her service she attended Boot Camp in Orlando FL., Radioman school in San Diego, CA., and was stationed at Norfolk VA., London England, Pearl Harbor HI., Alameda CA., Okinawa Japan, Guam, The Naval War College, Newport RI., The Pentagon, USS Jason (AR-8), San Diego CA., and Pensacola FL.

Her medals and ribbons include; Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two Gold Stars, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon with one Broze Star, Battle E, Good Conduct Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star, Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon with one Silver Star and one Bronze Star, Expert Pistol Shot Ribbon.
