Historical society to meet Nov. 20
The Sequoyah County Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29 at their museum, located at 200 E. Creek Street in Sallisaw.
The Sequoyah County Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29 at their museum, located at 200 E. Creek Street in Sallisaw.
Since November is Native American month, they will have noted Cherokee historian Janelle Adair as their guest speaker. Chosen as a Seven Feathers recipient in 2019, Adair is also a traditional Cherokee storyteller. She now lives in Tahlequah but has relatives in Vian and close connections to Sequoyah County.
A reception will follow the meeting with Mildred Taylor as hostess. The public is invited to attend.
