Seven Muldrow players named to 3A-3 All-District team

On defense Limore registered 24 tackles and three sacks and recovered a fumble and on offense he caught three throws for 14 yards.

The District 3A-3 football coaches recently honored seven Muldrow High School senior players and head coach Brandon Ellis.

Running back/defensive back Trenden Collins was named Most Valuable Player, quarterback Camden Matthews, fullback Eli Crumrine and wide receiver Bobby Plank were chosen for the offensive team and outside linebacker Denver Click and safety David Frias were selected to the defensive team. Ellis was chosen Coach of the Year and tight end/defensive end Bryson Limore was named 2nd team All-District.

The seventh-ranked Bulldogs (8-3 overall) registered their most wins since 1990 (9-2) this season while placing third in the 3A-3 standings. Fifthranked Cascia Hall ended Muldrow’s season with a 40-6 win in the first round of the playoffs in Tulsa.

This season Collins rushed for 2,130 yards and 26 touchdowns on 231 carries, and on defense he logged a team-high 86 total tackles while intercepting five passes, recovering three fumbles and causing one fumble. Collins also caught a touchdown pass and returned a fumble and an interception for touchdowns.

Matthews ran for 287 yards and five touchdowns on 96 rushes while completing 37-of-83 passes for 334 yards and one touchdown with six interceptions.

Crumrine totaled 329 yards and six touchdowns on 58 carries and Plank caught 12 passes for 152 yards.

Click recorded 64 total tackles, intercepted a pass and caused a fumble and Frias registered 44 tackles while causing two fumbles and recovering one.

On defense Limore registered 24 tackles and three sacks and recovered a fumble and on offense he caught three throws for 14 yards.

Other special awards presented were: Offensive Players of the Year: Lincoln Christian’s John Washington and Stigler’s Will Rose; Linemen of the Year: Lincoln Christian’s Isaac Autaubo and Berryhill’s Eli Burke; Defensive Players of the Year: Lincoln Christian’s Tyler Johnson and Seminole’s Miguel Conley; Special Teams Players of the Year: Berryhill’s Aiden Horner and Lincoln Christian’s Drew Lancaster; Punters: Seminole’s Blake McGrail and Checotah’s Carter Stewart; Injured Athlete Recognition: Locust Grove’s Rickey Taylor and Lincoln Christian’s Easton Rogers.

Lincoln Christian won the 3A-3 title this season.
