A Few of My Favorite Things

It’s officially December. I can’t believe the year is almost over already. It’s crazy how fast the years fly by. As we begin this last month of 2022, I just want to remind you all life is precious. Christmas is a time we draw together more than any other during the year. Use this time together for beautiful memories. Take photos, no matter how much you hate it. As gifts this year, give of yourself. Give time, give traditions, give photos, give memories. As loved ones pass away, we don’t remember the things we are given. We remember the memories made together. It is the greatest gift and as we age, it’s all we really want.

Easy Dinner

It’s officially December. I can’t believe the year is almost over already. It’s crazy how fast the years fly by. As we begin this last month of 2022, I just want to remind you all life is precious. Christmas is a time we draw together more than any other during the year. Use this time together for beautiful memories. Take photos, no matter how much you hate it. As gifts this year, give of yourself. Give time, give traditions, give photos, give memories. As loved ones pass away, we don’t remember the things we are given. We remember the memories made together. It is the greatest gift and as we age, it’s all we really want.

Have Grandma write out the traditions her family used to do and favorite recipes that are rarely made. Have Mom do the same and compare. Do those traditions with them and take photos to commemorate. They will love it and somewhere down the line you will treasure it. Have Dad and brother write out stories from their youthful ornery days, you know, the stories everyone wants to hear again. This is a great way to carry on their memory long after they are gone. If you can pair them with photos, even better! Gather in the kitchen with the ladies of all ages, young and old. Make precious memories baking cookies and take photos to show the love. Time is so precious and so very short.

Last week exhausted me. So this week, I went all in one. Instead of picking a theme, I just made a meal where everything was something new and took pictures of everything. I also went simple. Though the bread took some time, it was easy to put together and that was important to me. Make your grocery list and hit the store. Then, join me in the kitchen for an easy meal that won’t take long to put together and will easily fill your belly!
