1 cup milk warm 100 degrees 1â tsps. active yeast or 1 package â cup sugar 3½ cups allpurpose flour plus more for kneading 1 egg ¼ tsp. salt â cup butter melted plus ¼ cup butter, melted Honey Cinnamon Butter ½ cup unsalted butter, softened 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 Tbsps. honey 2 Tbsps. powdered sugar Prepare honey cinnamon butter by combining butter, cinnamon, honey, and powdered sugar with spoon or mixer until well blended. Set aside. In cup or small bowl, stir together warm milk, sugar and yeast. Allow yeast to proof and begin to activate while you prepare other ingredients. Using stand mixer or food processor, combine flour, egg, 1/3 cup melted butter and salt. Add milk mixture and process until you have smooth dough; it may be stickier and wetter than regular bread dough. Place dough in greased bowl, turn dough to grease all sides, and cover with towel. Let rise until it has doubled in size. Depending on the warmth of your house, this may take a couple hours. When dough has doubled, punch it down and turn it out on floured surface. Let rest for 10 minutes. Roll out dough into a large, flat rectangle approximately 1/2 inch thick. Cut into even portions with sharp knife and place on greased baking sheet (or one lined with parchment paper) and let rise again, until doubled. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake 10 minutes or until light brown. If desired you can brush tops of the rolls with remaining 1/4 cup melted butter before serving. I used the cinnamon butter instead of plain to brush the tops. Serve with prepared cinnamon butter.
