Members challenged to move it, move it, move

By Billie Anthony

This past Monday we had seven members weigh in. Billie had the best weight loss and Annette’s name was drawn from the Two Bit Bowl, but she had to hand the quarters over to our treasurer. We had two sign up for the Losers Lotto contest and two ribbons were taken off the surprise box. Our chapter challenge for this week is: Move it, move it, move. Whatever you do this week, make sure you are moving more than usual.

Sallisaw TOPS

This past Monday we had seven members weigh in. Billie had the best weight loss and Annette’s name was drawn from the Two Bit Bowl, but she had to hand the quarters over to our treasurer. We had two sign up for the Losers Lotto contest and two ribbons were taken off the surprise box. Our chapter challenge for this week is: Move it, move it, move. Whatever you do this week, make sure you are moving more than usual.

We discussed our Saturday trip to Claremore for the Resume’ Workshop. This workshop is for the chapter weight recorders to learn how to do End of Year weight charts and get them sent to our new Coordinator, Randy Givan from Gladstone, Mo. The charts are to be received by Jan. 8.

Fun Day costs are going to increase: lunch will be $7 and registration will be changed to $4 per person. Fun Days have been reserved by chapters for 2023 and 2024. State Recognition Day volunteers are needed to help with SRD in Shawnee April 20-22, 2023 at the Grand Casino Hotel. Rule of thumb for Winter weather: Watch the weather and see what the temperature will be during the meeting. If it falls to 32 degrees, and members feel uncomfortable about getting out of the slick road, please stay home. As for snow and ice, a meeting will be canceled. Staying safe is our main concern.

Our chapter Christmas party will be on the Dec 19. This will be a great time to visit our chapter and see for yourself the fun we have. This will be our last weigh in of 2022. If you want to visit us to see what happens at a TOPS meeting, your first visit is free.

We had an interactive program this week. I passed out a sheet of quotes to each member and gave them time to look over the quotes. The object of this exercise was to pick out one or two quotes and tell what it means to them. Some quotes were clear, some were a bit more ambiguous but all were open to interpretation. There were no right or wrong answer in this activity, the idea was to get our TOPS members talking and sharing with one another. My favorite was by Will Rogers: Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today!

The price to join TOPS CLUB INC is $49 for a new member and for a member whose membership has expired, the cost is $37.

EVERYONE is invited to visit. The first visit is FREE. It cost $49 a year to join TOPS Club INC. We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10am and the meeting starts at 11am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/4131383. We look forward to meeting you.
