The 13th-ranked Class 4A Stilwell Indians defended their house Tuesday, proving too much for the Black Diamonds to contain.

Sallisaw started the contest holding their own, with Parker Jackson making four points, Jackson Obregon adding a trey and Sim Kilpatrick getting a bucket to match the nine points the Indians posted in the first stanza.

Jackson added a trey, Kilpatrick registered four points, Obregon made six and Braxton Lamb made a point from the free throw line to give Sallisaw 14 points in the second quarter. Stilwell was able to get outside to make three three-pointers that helped the Indians pull ahead by three with 17 points in the second, making the score 26-23 at the half.

In the third quarter, Kilpatrick went 4 for 6 from the charity stripe in addition to and a bucket, and Jackson added a bucket to account for Sallisaw’s eight points in the third stanza to keep pace with Stilwell’s nine points.

In the final stana, the Indians showed why they are ranked 13th, putting 20 points on the board. Jackson put in five points, while Broderick Cameron and Cooper Jackson added two each and Obregon added one from the line for the Black Diamond’s 10 points in the final period.

The Black Diamonds (3-2) host rival Muldrow at 8 p.m. Friday.
