CENTRAL GIRLS 45, VIAN 29
Central’s Cambree Bair scored a game-high 21 points Friday night in Muldrow to lead the Lady Tigers to the ABSCAC consolation championship win over the Lady Wolverines.
Bair made four two-point field goals in the opening period to help the Lady Tigers take a 12-4 advantage and Skyelar Locust and Avery Wright recorded two points apiece for the Lady Wolverines.
In the second stanza Bair (11 points) went 5-of-6 at the foul line while Maci Smith (5 points) knocked down a 3-pointer for the Lady Wolverines. The Lady Tigers outscored Vian 15-5 in the quarter.
Central’s Avery Warner and Vian’s Rebel Simon registered four points apiece for their respective teams in the third period as the Lady Tigers increased their advantage (12-5).
In the fourth frame Wright (6 points), Rayleigh Terrill (4) and Smith (3) led Vian in scoring as the Lady Wolverines trimmed nine points (15-6) off the deficit. Haley Cheek, Elizabeth Ortiz and Warner recorded two points apiece for the Lady Tigers in the period.
Trailing Bair in scoring for Central were Warner (6 points), Hadlie Woods, Cheek and Ortiz (4 each) and Ayrland Jiles, Cheyenne Busch and Autumn Cernicek (2 apiece).
Scoring for the Lady Wolverines were Smith and Wright (8 points apiece), Locust (5) and Simon and Terrill (4 each).
STIGLER BOYS 57, GORE 44
Gore trailed the Panthers 21-16 at the half of Friday’s consolation final contest at Muldrow but Stigler increased its advantage in the second two periods to down the Pirates.
In the first stanza Gore’s Ben Kirkpatrick and Noah Cooper each hit a 3-pointer but Jayden Gould’s four points helped the Panthers go in front 10-9.
Cooper scored four of his team-high 22 points in the second quarter while Jackson McCarter recorded five for the Panthers, who led by five at the intermission outscoring the Pirates 11-6.
In the third period Cooper (6 points) went 4-for-4 at the foul line and McCarter (8) made a pair of 3-pointers for Stigler. The Panthers outscored the Pirates 18-12 in the stanza and went to the fourth leading 39-27.
Cooper (9 points) and Jackson Duke knocked down a 3-pointer apiece in the final frame and McCarter (8 points) went 6-for-6 at the foul line to help Stigler add a point (18-17) to its advantage.
Trailing in scoring for Gore in the contest were Keigan Reid and Kirkpatrick (6 points apiece), Duke (5), Journey Shells (3) and Aidan Dickerson (2).
McCarter led all scorers with 23 points.
