Vian will hold April election for two trustee seats
The town of Vian passed a resolution on Dec. 19 declaring a nonpartisan general election for the purpose of electing two board of trustees in April.

The town of Vian passed a resolution on Dec. 19 declaring a nonpartisan general election for the purpose of electing two board of trustees in April.
According to the legal publication in this week’s issue, the resolution was filed with the Sequoyah County Election Board on Jan. 5.
The filing period will begin at 8 a.m. on Feb. 6 and close at 5 p.m. on Feb. 8, and the election will be held on Tuesday, April 4.
The trustees to be elected are nominated at large and elected at large. Each candidate must be a qualified elector by virtue of being a resident and registered voter within town of Vian limits for at least six months prior to filing a declaration of candidacy.
The two board seats will be elected to fill four-year terms. Board of trustee seat No. 3 will expire in 2027 and board of trustee seat No. 1 (for an unexpired term) will expire in 2025.
The legal publication also states that absentee ballots will be provided in accordance with state law.
