Lady Tigers fall to 9th-ranked Oktaha

The No. 9-ranked Class 2A Oktaha Lady Tigers used scoring outbursts in the second and third periods Monday to defeat the host Central Lady Tigers, 70-50.
The visiting Oktaha squad came out swinging, but Central was able to keep up with them for a manageable 16-12 deficit by the end of the first quarter.
In the second stanza, Oktaha’s defense kicked in and it was apparent how they had earned their Top 10 state ranking. Oktaha held Central to just four points, while adding 17 points to its total for a 33-16 gap going into halftime.
The second half was more of the same, with Oktaha earning 15 points while its defense limited Central to nine points to increase Oktaha’s advantage to 23 points going into the final frame.
Central tried to make a game of it, but Oktaha outscored the Lady Tigers 15-11 enroute to the 70-50 final score.
Ava Scott scored a game-high 18 points for Oktaha, with Cambree Bair scoring 11 points for Central.
