Hodges set for Wednesday arraignment
A Muldrow man charged in the 2022 burglary of a Sallisaw residence is set for a Jan. 18 arraignment in Sequoyah County District Court, according to court records.
Lonnie G. Hodges, 45, was formally charged on Jan. 4 with felony burglary in the second degree and a warrant was issued for his arrest the same day. He received a $10,000 bond and if found guilty of the charge he could face imprisonment for up to seven years, according to District Attorney Jack Thorp.
Sequoyah County Sheriff’s deputy Roger Johnson reported on Sept. 1, 2022, he was dispatched to E. 1000 Road where he spoke with the reporting party. The reporting party said he was trying to get the residence ready to move into when he noticed someone had allegedly broken in. The reporting party said their were fresh tire tracks at the residence and the front door had been left open.
The reporting party said he put flyers out in an attempt to catch the alleged suspect(s) when he was told by another individual someone had been bragging about the alleged incident.
Investigator Dwayne Frizzell said he and investigator Steven Jenkins interviewed Hodges on Dec. 13. Frizzell said he asked Hodges about several items he had pawned at pawn shops in both Oklahoma and Arkansas. Hodges claimed another individual had sold him the property cheap and then he sold it to make money, according to the probable cause affidavit.
The investigator also reportedly questioned Hodges about being on camera driving up to the reporting party’s residence and walking in the yard on more than one occasion. Hodges said he was only turning around and did not take anything.
A warrant was then issued for Hodges’ arrest, according to the affidavit in the case.
