Superintendent contracts were renewed and a custodian was hired during the Roland Board of Education’s regular monthly meeting on Jan. 9.
After meeting in executive session to discuss on whether or not to renew the contracts of Superintendent Lori Wiggins and Assistant Superintendent Angie Goode, the board voted to renew both contracts along with voting to hire Sydney “Ed” Daws as a custodian.
The board accepted the resignations of Wanda Qualls, elementary cafeteria and Tammy Jackson, middle school custodian; and also approved policy and procedure updates as listed.
The lower elementary kindergarten students’ fundraiser to sell Texas Roadhouse peanuts was also approved by the board members. The students will be selling the peanuts from January to March, according to meeting minutes.
In financial matters, the board approved the following from the General Fund: Encumbrances PO #502546 for $143,463.01 for Dec. 5, 2022 to Jan. 4, 2023; Building Fund #6069 for $4,519.01; Co-op Fund #4148 for $975.20; GF #1202-1249 for $117,368.86; and Payroll #1250-1407 for $583,674.47.
