Trio fuels Lady Grizzlies to 22-point win

ARKOMA – Melania Paniagua, Brianna Burris and K’cee Osburn combined for 41 Friday night as the Gans Lady Grizzlies pummeled the winless Arkoma Mustangs, 5230, in a Class A showdown.

ARKOMA – Melania Paniagua, Brianna Burris and K’cee Osburn combined for 41 Friday night as the Gans Lady Grizzlies pummeled the winless Arkoma Mustangs, 5230, in a Class A showdown.

The Lady Mustangs (0-10) managed four points in the first quarter, while Gans collected seven points with help from Emily Phillips’ five points to take an early threepoint lead by the end of the period.

Gans (4-8) outscored Arkoma 13-12 in the second stanza to extend its lead to four points at intermission, with Osburn and Hailey Pierson each scoring four points.

The Lady Grizzlies came alive in the second half, outscoring the Lady Mustangs 32-14 down the stretch. Paniagua caught fire, scoring 10 points, and Burris added seven points in the third period to increase the lead to 39-22.

The Lady Grizzlies didn’t let up in the fourth frame, outscoring Arkoma 13-8 for the final tally and a 22-point victory.

Paniagua finished as the game’s highest scorer with 17 points on the night, followed by 12 points apiece from Osburn and Burris.
