Members celebrate 75th anniversary of TOPS

By Billie Anthony

Monday, Jan. 16, we had eight members weigh in. We had a net loss of 9.2 pounds. Way to go members! Neve had our best weight loss of 2.7 pounds. Great job, Neve! Our chapter has been doing well since the first of the year. Last Monday, Jan. 9, we had a No Gain meeting! Excellent!

Sallisaw TOPS

Monday, Jan. 16, we had eight members weigh in. We had a net loss of 9.2 pounds. Way to go members! Neve had our best weight loss of 2.7 pounds. Great job, Neve! Our chapter has been doing well since the first of the year. Last Monday, Jan. 9, we had a No Gain meeting! Excellent!

We had four members sign their names on the Losers Lotto contest. Virginia’s name was picked from the Two Bit Bowl, but the quarters went to the treasury. Our Surprise Box still has several bows to pull off before we find out who wins the prize.

Announcements for the chapter were to let them know that the Poteau chapter will be hosting a Fun day March 4. The theme is 50’s Sock Hop. Sounds like it will be fun with three contests: Hula Hoop, The Twist dance and Best 50’s costume. I see a poodle skirt, bobby sock and black and white oxfords in my future. We also discussed about going to Shawnee for our annual State Recognition Day, April 20 – 22. The theme is Go Team Go!

This year marks TOPS CLUB INC. 75th Anniversary. So beginning today, we will begin the ‘Shine Like a Diamond’ 75th Anniversary Challenge. We are to complete 15 out of 20 activities this year to qualify for recognition. We look forwards to the challenges.

I gave out three prong file holders to each member for our journey to Shine Like a Diamond this year. The first Monday of the year I handed out “Three Healthy Eating Plans”. I handed out a printout of a civil war cannon to each of the ladies. They are to name theirs and this week they came up with some cute names for example: Fat Buster, Flab Blaster, Betsy and Gwetchi. We hand out representing a ‘cannon ball’ (information on weight loss) each week to be put in a three prong file folder. TOPS is not about dieting or selling you a food plan. But we do recommend these three different eating plans to help you build your healthy lifestyle. Just don’t forget to check with a licensed healthcare professional first. This week we handed out the first week of the 28 Day Meal Planner for Members.

A new chapter challenge for our members is to have a friend or acquaintance join our chapter and the chapter member and new member will receive 3 months free monthly dues each.

EVERYONE is invited to visit. The first visit is FREE. It cost $49 a year to join TOPS Club INC. We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10:30am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10:30am and the meeting starts at 11am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/413-1383. We look forward to meeting you.
