AARP Foundation announces the opening of its Tax-Aide site in Sallisaw. This service will be available at First Christian Church at 706 North Wheeler, Sallisaw. The site will be open on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Feb. 1 until April 12. This service is primarily for seniors and low to moderate income taxpayers.
If you’d like to get your refund faster, electronic filing will be available. For help with your taxes, stop by the Stanley Tubbs Library, ask for a copy of the AARP’s tax documents, take them home and fill them out. Then bring them and a copy of last year’s return, your Social Security cards, government issued picture id, and all of the following forms that you receive: W-2, Social Security- 1099, all other 1099’s, any dependent care provider information, receipts or cancelled checks if you want to itemize, IRS letters 6475 and 6419 concerning the Economic Impact Payments, and the Advanced Child Tax Credit as well as other tax related information you’ll need to file your return.
When you drop them off they will go over them and make an appointment for you to return and retrieve your completed tax return.
