Lady Pirates claim Porum tourney consolation title

Gore’s Lady Pirates defeated Gans 63-36 Saturday in Porter to win the Cross Telephone Invitational consolation championship.

Gore’s Lady Pirates defeated Gans 63-36 Saturday in Porter to win the Cross Telephone Invitational consolation championship.

The Lady Pirates led 23-18 at the half before outscoring the Lady Grizzlies 22-8 in the third period.

Scoring for Gore in the contest were Lindsey Pierce and Emily Daily (11 points apiece), Oaklei Thornton (9), Aspyn Cearley, Andi Summerlin and Kennedy Williams (8 each), Rayleigh Moore (4) and Natalie Casteel (2). Scoring for Gans were Melanie Paniagua (18 points), Brianna Burris and K’Cee Osburn (6 each), Emily Phillips (5) and Destiny Phillips (1).

GORE GIRLS 54, GRAHAMDUSTIN 9 (FRIDAY) Gore cruised into the tournament consolation final Friday with a convincing victory over Graham-Dustin.
