Members learning the exchange system

By Billie Anthony

Monday, we had eight members weigh in. We had a net loss of 2.3 pounds. Way to go members! Donna had our best weight loss of 2.6 pounds. Great job, Donna! Again, we had four members sign our Loser Lotto chart. The Two Bit Bowl had a winner this week, congrats goes to Donna! We have fun with our contests and challenges.

Again, we announced the Poteau chapter will be hosting a Fun Day March 4. The theme is 50’s Sock Hop. Sounds like it will be fun with 3 contests: Hula Hoop, The Twist dance and Best 50’s costume. I see a poodle skirt, bobby sock and black and white oxfords in my future. We also discussed about going to Shawnee for our annual State Recognition Day, April 20 – 22, 2023. The theme is Go Team Go! Right now, we have three going for State Recognition Day.

I handed out a printout of a civil war cannon two weeks ago. We hand out representing a ‘cannon ball’ (information on weight loss) each week to be put in a 3 prong file folder. This week I handed out the second week of the 28 Day Meal Planner for Members. The 28 day meal planner is teaching the members to use the Exchange System used by heart patients and diabetic patients. Although several of the members are not used to the Exchange System, the meal planner is showing them a variety of menus and food to use.

Monday we addressed envelopes to former members inviting them back to TOPS CLUB 0737 and offering them a discount on their membership fee. Our goal is to increase our membership so we are coming with ideas to do so. If an active member can get a friend or acquaintance to join our chapter, the member and their friend will get three months free monthly dues.

EVERYONE is invited to visit. The first visit is FREE. It cost $49 a year to join TOPS Club INC. We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10:30am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10:30am and the meeting starts at 11am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/4131383. We look forward to meeting you.
