During the Jan. 10 regular meeting of the Gore Board of Trustees, approval was given to purchase a push sewer camera system but the board tabled donating a retired military Humvee.
According to meeting minutes, Gore Public Works Authority (GPWA) was given the go to purchase an Envirosight VeriSight Pro+ 330 ft. push sewer camera system.
However, the board tabled donating the town’s retired military Humvee to the Texanna Fire Department, which was also tabled during the December meeting.
The board approved four emergency ordinances as listed, along with the amended employee handbook for the town and GPWA, which was tabled from the Dec. 13 meeting.
The board also approved a Town of Gore and GPWA capitalization policy, Film and Video Production Support request, and the purchase of body worn cameras and car cameras.
They also approved purchasing vanities for Town Hall bathrooms, and purchasing commercial garage doors and door motors at the police and fire station.
Police chief Jeremy Walters reported the department issued 13 tickets, six of which were for drug charges, and 50 warnings for the previous month. He said a total of $3,600 was collected in citation fees and they are still waiting on bids for the addition onto the police/fire station.
The fire department reported two calls since the last meeting and one mutual aid call. They also reported opening the community center due to weather and said there were some problems with the tornado sirens because there are only two stations working.
In new business, it was announced the 2023 Fire Grant had opened and a special meeting would be held.
GPWA administrator Jeremy Lane reported there were four main line leaks at the water plant they are currently working on and are waiting for parts. He also reported an 18% water loss and said the sludge pound will need to be cleaned out by a contractor.
